Analects 3:3

Analects 3:3
Confucius said “If a man has no humaneness what can his propriety be like? If a man has no humaneness, what can his music be like?”
[Comment] since humaneness is the essence of all positive human attributes, without it, how they can truly operate.

I will interpret it as “if a man has no goodness, what can his nature be like?” If a man has no goodness in him, he will not be loved by others because his attitude towards others is not good. If his nature is not good, he will never have harmony in his life. Just like in the other sentence that states the question, if a man has no humaneness, what can his music be like, as I can understand, music is the reflection of what a man feel and an expression of the behavior of man. If a man has no humaneness, his music will not be harmonious and good to hear and he will just construct or make a music that has no harmony or rhythm. Unlike when you have humaneness in you, it will reflect in your music and it will create a harmonious music out of it.
